Train Smart Clinic

Training for the Hotter'N Hell Hundred can be brutal.

Many riders learned on Tuesday night that they can't avoid the heat when training.

Bikin' Mike Keel gave riders tips about getting ready for the big day at the "Train Smart" Clinic.

For those just riding, he said it's important to pace yourself.  Don't make it a competition, just participate.  He hopes riders can come up with an approach to ride so they have a good finish where they are feeling strong.

He also said riders shouldn't try to fight the wind.  This can make you work harder than you actually need to.

Keel has been training riders since 1987 and has had a lot of success with his clients.  He feels confident the methods he shared will work for everyone, including himself.  This year he will be riding in the race.
