Flood Waters Cause Closures and Cancellations

Wichita Falls, Texas - From the Wichita Falls Parks and Recreation Department:

-Due to the flooding and lack of power in Lucy Park the Lucy Park Pool will not be open for the Memorial Day weekend. Weather and conditions permitting, the pool will be open the following weekend Saturday May 30th and Sunday May 31st, from noon to 6:00 p.m.

Splash Day is Saturday, June 6th from noon to 6:00 p.m. After June 6th the pool will be open seven days a week from noon to 6:00 p.m.

-Due to inclement weather, the Friday Night Live Band Dance at the 50 Plus Zone has been cancelled for tonight Friday, May 22nd.

From the Burkburnett Emergency Management Coordinator:

-The City of Burkburnett now has an area set up for sandbags at the corner of North Holly Street and West 5th. The sandbags have to be filled will be available until 8:00 p.m. Friday evening.

-As of 1:00 pm Burkburnett crews closed Roller Road at Gilbert Creek near Clark Road.
