WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - A man is recovering in the hospital after the quick action of a server at Texas Roadhouse in Wichita Falls.

Witnesses posted to social media that a man fell over while eating dinner with his family at the restaurant Sunday afternoon.

Posts said he had a heart attack.

That is when Laci Perez jumped in and began performing CPR while others called for help.

Management with the restaurant post on Facebook saying paramedics told them Perez's actions likely saved the man's life.

Perez is graduating this May from Vernon College with an associates degree in nursing.

Perez told Newschannel 6 that she just did what God put her there to do.

The man she saved is still in the hospital at last check. But his family has posted all over Facebook about how thankful they are for Laci Perez.

Perez said something like this should be a reminder of how important it is to be CPR certified, because the right person may not always be around.

The local chapter of the American Red Cross offers CPR classes if you would like to sign up.
