WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - A Wichita Falls man is behind bars following a call to Wichita Falls Police on Monday morning.
Around 11:00 a.m. officers were dispatched to the Motel 6 on Central Freeway in reference to a suspicious person near room 220.
A tip stated a black woman was seen putting two large squares of marijuana under the back seat of a black Dodge with a specific license plate.
When police arrived on scene they found the vehicle and it was occupied by a black woman. Officers said they could smell a strong odor of unburned marijuana coming from the vehicle.
That is when Jeredy Sills, 34, walked up to police and said he previously smoked marijuana in the car.
During an investigation, a large blue Walmart bag was found in the trunk. Inside that bag were five vacuum packed clear plastic bags containing a 'usable' amount of a green leafy substance.
A digital scale, a vacuum sealer, and plastic baggies were also found inside the Walmart bag.
The green leafy substance field tested positive for marijuana and weighed more than 10 and a half ounces.
Based on the evidence, Sills was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana in a Drug-Free Zone.
The Motel 6 is in close proximity to Lynwood Park.
