WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - For the Midwestern State Community, the meaning of family has become more important than ever these last couple of weeks with the loss of Robert Grays.
Some students said it is making this year's MSU Family Weekend even more significant.
Thousands celebrated this annual event Saturday with a number of activities.
A Caribbean Parade got the party started.
Family members came from all across the country to spend time with their loved ones.
"It's just a time for MSU to come together, we've been like a very strong family this whole last week so for everybody's families to come together its really good." said Maia Cook, MSU student.
Those students and their family enjoyed a movie, food, dancing and of course spending time with each other.
The Family Weekend continues Sunday with a Family Brunch.
It is being held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Clark Student Center Dining Hall & Maverick's Corner. It is $8.50 at the door.
