WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - A waiting list is already filling up for new apartments under construction in downtown Wichita Falls.
The downtown view and a coffee shop right below it are just some of the things that make City Center Apartments stand out.
The Property Manager for Metro Life Properties, Judy Kurani, said Wichita Falls residents don't have a lot of options when it comes to living in downtown.
"There is not a lot of living places and we are hoping to create a community atmosphere here at City Center Apartments," said Kurani.
Kurani said these apartments will have a variety of floorplans to choose from.
"We will have thirty apartments," Kurani said. "Twenty-four of those will be efficiencies apartments. Four will be two bedroom apartments and two will be luxury apartments."
The units will be above 8th St. Coffee House which was originally used for offices. The owner of 8th St. Coffee House thinks this will help her business even more.
"A coffee shop on the bottom floor of your building. There is nothing better than that," Amador said.
A mother who's lived in Wichita Falls for most of her life said she has seen things fall apart and to see them being rebuilt is a great experience.
"Just to see that they are trying to upgrade downtown Wichita Falls is awesome," Parker said. "The fact that they are going to put new apartments here is pretty exciting because it is something new that we haven't had."
Parker's stepdaughter also says the fact that City Center apartments are beside the museum is even better. City Center Apartments are expected to open in January 2018.
