Neighbors Emergency Center in Wichita Falls has closed

WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - Newschannel 6 has learned Neighbors Emergency Center on Kell E Blvd. and McNiel Ave. has closed.

Wednesday morning signs outside of the building could be seen being taken down.

The emergency center opened its doors in Wichita Falls in May of 2016. It appears this location permanently closed early Tuesday morning.

It is one of several Texas locations that have closed this year.

Officials with the Houston-based company have said the entire industry is compressing due to oversaturation in some markets.

Select ER, another freestanding emergency room located on Kemp Blvd. across from Barwise Middle School, closed in mid-October 2016.
