WICHITA FALLS, TX (KAUZ) - The Midwestern State University Women's soccer program will host an ID Camp Saturday, July 28 at MSU. The one day camp is for high school aged
players to get a chance to learn about the soccer program.
Coach Ryan Spence - MSU Women's Head Coach
"With these ID Camps it allows us to train them like we train the girls," MSU's Women's Head Coach Ryan Spence said. "So they will get more of a detailed version of how not just how my coaching staff wants to run things, but in college in general. Having that competition as well that's kind
of what these ID camps are built on."
The Mustangs coaching staff won't be the only coaches at the camp. There will be another school at the camp, and that's
something that Coach Spence says is beneficial to the athletes and his coaching staff.
"You go with these ID Camps or camps, in general, you get to kind of pick someone's brain and see oh you see them as this
position," Spence said. "I don't see that but maybe it will open your mind up to kind of see different things, learn what philosophy work.
The competition on the field isn't the only thing the athletes can look forward to. They will also have a chance to see the
MSU campus and ask questions.
"A lot of these ID camps they aren't very expensive they are not a four-day camp that cost, you know $400, $500, $600
dollars." Spence said. "This is a one day camp some places offer where they kind of show you around a little bit and then most of them
always have a talk. Where the parents can ask questions, the kids can ask questions and they get more face to face answers.
Which at the end of the day if you want to come to Midwestern you put yourself out in front of the coaches as much as you
can and this is what these ID camps do for these athletes."
Midwestern State women's soccer will hold a one-day ID Camp for high school aged players Saturday, July 28, 2018, from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the MSU Soccer Practice Field.
The MSU Women's Soccer ID Camp is designed to give players a training experience that highlights technical and tactical abilities identified with the Midwestern State program.
Players will take part in technical exercises and small-sided games while working under the direction of the MSU coaching staff. Campers will also be given the opportunity to tour the campus and ask the coaching staff questions about the college recruiting process.

A question and answer seminar covering the recruiting process will be covered during the lunch break. Another period featuring 11 vs. 11 play runs from 1 to 3 p.m.
