WICHITA FALLS, Tx (RNN Texoma) - A single car accident on Monday morning left a man in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Wichita Falls Police Department responded to an accident near the North Texas State Hospital at around 5:04 a.m.

Officers said a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer was traveling north on Kemp Boulevard near the state hospital when the vehicle lost control, hit the curb, and flipped a number of times.

The vehicle stopped rolling just before it would have hit a fence at the state hospital.

The driver was the only person inside the vehicle and was ejected.

He was taken to United Regional with severe, life-threatening injuries. The driver is a Hispanic male, about 32 years old. He was almost immediately taken into surgery, according to police.
