Holliday's Brea Box prepares for big senior year

A college-bound Lady Eagle will lead Holliday this year

HOLLIDAY, TX (KAUZ) - Brea Box is entering her senior year at Holliday High School, and she has been with this group of seniors since the 3rd grade.

"We've played together like this group of seniors for years," Senior Brea Box said. "Like I played with Coach Parker as my coach in 3rd grade, and
it's come full circle and I'm so excited."

Coach Parker is entering her first year as head coach but she has been around the girls for so long it will be a easy
transition.

"That's so special, because she knows all of us so personally," Box said. "So she knows what we will bring on and off the court. She
knows who we are as people instead of just players."

Box isn't the only one excited for the season. Coach Parker is also excited to have Box for her senior year and be able to
use a player with such talent on the floor.

"She's a standout, she's been a star for a long time so its super exciting," explained Holliday head coach Wendy Parker. "Like I said she brings thrill to practice so it's great. And she's uplifting to the other players, the young players that get to come in and see her on a day in basis
it's just great."

After High school Box will continue her volleyball career playing division one volleyball for Abilene Christian
University. She says once she went to campus she was sold on the family atmosphere.

"The atmosphere is just so amazing and everyone is just so close knit," said Box. "And the campus is beautiful. They have a brand new
science program, and the coach just cares so much about the players. And I just love having a coach who is as excited for
me to go as I am"

But before she leaves for Abilene she hopes that she can help lead her lady eagles back to state.

"Of course we want to win district, and we want to play as long as we can," Box said. "If that's making it to state that's amazing, but
staying on the court for as long we can every single time that's the goal."
