City of WF donates properties to Habitat for Humanity
WICHITA FALLS, Tx (RNN Texoma) - Habitat for Humanity now has some new properties to build homes on in Wichita Falls.
On Tuesday city councilors passed a resolution donating three properties on Dallas and Jalonick Streets to the organization for them to build on.
Mayor Stephen Santellana said it's a great program and the city tries to help out however they can every year because it also improves the quality of life in Wichita Falls, especially in the southeast part of town.
"In a part of our community that doesn't grow a lot and have a lot of home construction going on, this is a way to put really nice structures out there," Mayor Santellana said.
He said Habitat for Humanity really serves a need in Wichita Falls and he looks forward to seeing the new homes developed.
No timeline has been given for how long construction could take.
