WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - You may have heard before that the number one thing that leads to divorce is disagreements over money, but economists say the taboo surrounding money talk may be going away.

We spoke with banker and host of the reality TV show “Trading Secrets” Jason Tartick, who said that without this stigma, couples have a better chance at financial harmony.

A new survey done by Chime Banking indicates that 50% of Gen Z and Millennials find it attractive to be open about income. That’s compared to 23% of Baby Boomers.

Our very own Alyssa Osterdock interviewed the former Bachelorette star, and Tartick said breaking the ice on money talk doesn’t have to be too serious or awkward.

Tartick says it’s important to look out for financial red flags, like the most common one: lying.
