WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - Former car dealership president Anthony Patterson’s appeal to reverse his 2024 child sex crime convictions has been denied.

Wichita County District Attorney John Gillespie said that the Fort Worth Court of Appeals just released its official opinion Thursday night at 7 p.m., and that it means his 33-year prison sentence will stand.

On November 20, 2024, Patterson was convicted on five counts that included trafficking, indecent exposure and sexual performance of a child.

This summer, he filed an appeal citing issues with his trial.

“He raised four different grounds for why he thought the trial, the mistakes that he believed were made in the trial, and the Court of Appeals said no, that Judge Kennedy got those decisions right that she made,” said District Attorney Gillespie.

“I don’t care who you are,” he went on to say. “And this sends the message: it doesn’t matter who you are, who you know, or how much money you have. You don’t get to do that to two little girls.”

Gillespie said Patterson has the right as a defendant to request a review of tonight’s opinion, but that there is a low chance the court will go back on its decision.
