Wichita Falls to house first Cowboy Collegiate League baseball team
WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - The Players League is expanding into Texas with its newly established Cowboy Collegiate League, and its first team, the Spudders, will be based in Wichita Falls.
The Players League was founded in 2023 and draws collegiate athletes from across the nation to play summer baseball, many of whom have gone on to play professional baseball. Its flagship league, the Old North State League, is based in North Carolina and features 24 teams across four divisions. It aims to provide affordable, family-friendly competition to the public, featuring high-level players on the collegiate baseball scene.
The Spudders’ first game will be in June, with Hoskins Field being their home site. Playoffs will take place during late July and early August. The League will also host themed game nights, community events, youth engagement initiatives, and local partnerships throughout the season to engage the Wichita Falls community beyond the baseball field.
