DPS releases details on Highway 281 multi-vehicle crash involving Constable

ARCHER COUNTY, Texas (KAUZ) - The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has shared details on a crash involving a Polk County Precinct 2 Constable on Wednesday afternoon.

DPS Public Information Officer Katrina Johnson said the crash happened when a white vehicle was turning left into a business.

Johnson said the Constable failed to control his speed and struck the white vehicle from behind. The impact then caused the white vehicle to hit a black truck.

The black truck was traveling northbound, while the white vehicle and the constable’s vehicle were traveling southbound.

DPS said the white vehicle and the constable sustained minor injuries. One person from the white vehicle was transported to United Regional Hospital in Wichita Falls for treatment.

As of 4:26 p.m., DPS said all lanes were open.
