WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - Following the election results, Coleman said he is pleased and humbled by the support he received from voters. He believes the outcome reflects a desire to see the city continue its recent growth and development.

“It means that the people of Wichita Falls want to see our progress continue. They want to see the momentum that we’ve gotten going continue,” Coleman said.

One of Coleman’s campaign promises is to establish an electronic town hall, giving residents an online resource to follow city initiatives, review project histories and track the status of ongoing projects.

“I’m going to get that going so that people have a resource, a place to go to look at what the city initiatives are going on, kind of the history of it, but the status and what the next steps are,” Coleman said.

He said the resource could also make it easier for residents to stay informed without having to attend in-person meetings.

“I think that people have busy lives and it’s difficult for them to get out to a meeting even if it’s in the evening. And so the convenience of it is key,” Coleman said.

Looking ahead, Coleman said he hopes his time on City Council will be remembered for bringing more businesses, prosperity and an improved quality of life to Wichita Falls.

“I can promise you that I represent everybody equally. And so if anybody has things that they need to, say, hey, this is what I’d like to see happen, I’m open to everybody’s comments,” Coleman said.

Newly elected City Council members are expected to be sworn into office at the Nov. 17 City Council meeting, following the official canvass of election results.
