AAA Texas: Prices remain steady despite summer demands

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - AAA Texas reports that despite gas being in demand over the summer season, prices have remained steady.
AAA Texas said the statewide gas price average in Texas is $2.78 per gallon for regular unleaded fuel.
Compared to this time last week, gas prices are one cent less, with drivers in the El Paso region paying the most for a full tank of gas.
AAA Texas said the national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.15, which is one cent less when compared to this day last week and 34 cents less per gallon when compared to this day last year.
As the summer driving season winds down, AAA Texas reports that statewide gas prices have remained under $3 per gallon throughout the summer, an encouraging trend for drivers not seen since 2021.
While both crude oil prices and fuel demand have seen slight increases, they’ve not been significant enough to push gas prices higher.
