WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - As part of National Black Business Month, we’re highlighting Mile Movement, a Wichita Falls vintage clothing store making its mark on style and community.

Store owner Josh Miles and Kellar Owens celebrated their first anniversary of offering timeless pieces and classic styles.

Now, they’re growing beyond as they are becoming versatile businessmen, as they are creating their own clothing brand.

“We’ve been talking about it since we were kids, like doing something together. So it was either get it done right away or take some time to let it come to us and kind of just worked out the way it did,“ Owens said.

In a diverse city like Wichita Falls, the pair has built a business that offers something for everyone.

“We have items that are as cheap as 10 bucks and all the way up to $500 like so whatever price range you have we try to kind of touch on and make everybody feel like they could have their own style,“ Miles said.

Learning a new skill, let alone running a business, is no easy task.

For Miles and Owens, their first year has been all about gratitude, with community support they describe as real.

“Being able to say we’re doing something on our own, like instead of going to work for somebody or doing something, how somebody’s doing it tells us to,“ Owens said.

“You know there’s something new to learn about business every single day so just our new experience to doing something like this and the area that we’re in and learning the market,“ Miles said.

This is their way of leveling the playing field with the resources they have — all while inspiring others.

“Our main goal is to expand for sure like get into different cities and different buildings but you know it’s our motto is it’s a marathon not a sprint so we kind of try to take things slow,” Miles said.

“The more you come in, the more we’ll know your name and be able to have a conversation with you. It’ll be more than just about spending money with us, it’ll be about a relationship, a business relationship, and trying to just build the brand and build the community,“ Owens said.

Running a store is only part of their journey, as they’re also building their own clothing brand.

Whether you’re hitting the gym, working a side hustle, or chasing your own path, Mile Movement offers the gear and inspiration to keep you moving.
