Woman identified in Wednesday night wreck in Wichita Falls

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - The Texas Department of Pubic Safety (DPS) has released the identity of the woman who passed away in the wreck on Highway 287 on Wednesday evening.

DPS said 52-year-old Madeleine Blanco-Garcia died in the hospital after injuries sustained in the wreck.

An investigation into the wreck found that Blanco-Garcia was the passenger in a car traveling north on US 287 in the left lane and drove off the road in the center median. DPS said the driver overcorrected and veered back across into the right lane, where the vehicle struck an unoccupied truck-mounted attenuator.
