TEXAS (KAUZ) - The Texas Tech University System (TTU System) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) have entered into a partnership to advance U.S. national security, cybersecurity, and critical infrastructure protection, according to TTU System officials.

The partnership with the FBI is classified as a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) and was signed on Monday, August 18.

The TTU System, which includes Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, said that under this partnership, the FBI will utilize university-led research addressing vulnerabilities in the nation’s most vital systems, such as the electric grid, water utilities, communication systems, military assets, and other infrastructure critical to the economy.

There is no information released that shares how this will impact universities in the TTU System, such as MSU Texas.
