Average gas prices in Texas trend downward as winter fuel becomes available

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - According to AAA Texas, the statewide gas price average in Texas is $2.64 per gallon for regular unleaded fuel.

AAA Texas said that the downward trend for fuel prices continues as lower demand, declining crude oil prices, and the switch to less expensive winter-blend gasoline help bring relief to drivers.

Of the major metropolitan areas surveyed in Texas, AAA Texas said that drivers in San Angelo are paying the most on average at $2.85 per gallon, while drivers in Amarillo are paying the least at $2.47 per gallon.

Their weekly report shows that the national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.05.
