December Teacher Spotlight Award winner announced

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - This month’s Teacher Spotlight Award was presented to Diane Wachsman at Jefferson Elementary.

Mrs. Wachsman, a 3rd grade teacher, was first inspired to go back and earn her teaching degree after her youngest daughter began to struggle in school. She has been teaching for 17 years, with 15 years spent at Jefferson Elementary, and her love for education is evident from the moment she walks into the classroom.

“It’s not about the content. It’s not about their being able to learn certain things,” Wachsman said. “It’s about them actually learning real life lessons, being kind, loving you, loving each other, and showing how truly kids, their hearts are so pure, and they’re so willing to do so much for you.”
