WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - For the U.S. Postal Service, the week of December 15-21 is expected to be the busiest of the year; in preparation, they have released their holiday schedule and a list of send-by dates to ensure that packages arrive by Christmas.

Nationwide Post Office locations will be closed on Dec. 25, 2025 and Jan. 1, 2026. All will resume operations along with regular mail delivery on Dec. 26, 2025 and Jan. 2, 2026.

For expected delivery before Dec. 25, the Postal Service recommends the following send-by dates:

2025 Holiday Shipping Dates for Contiguous U.S. (Lower 48 States)

  • Dec. 17 — USPS Ground Advantage service
  • Dec. 17 — First-Class Mail
  • Dec. 18 — Priority Mail
  • Dec. 20 — Priority Mail Express2

2025 Holiday Shipping Dates for Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and U.S. Territories

  • Dec. 16 — USPS Ground Advantage service3
  • Dec. 17 — First-Class Mail
  • Dec. 18 — Priority Mail
  • Dec. 20 — Priority Mail Express4

Select locations will deliver Priority Mail Express packages for an additional fee on Christmas Day. For more information, visit usps.com.
