AAA Texas reports lower gas demand will push prices down slightly

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - AAA Texas reports that while the national average ticked up slightly, the Texas statewide gas price average declined week over week, with most metro areas seeing prices move lower.
AAA Texas estimates that gasoline demand remains soft as colder weather keeps fewer drivers on the road.
The statewide gas price average in Texas is $2.45 per gallon for regular unleaded fuel, which is five cents less when compared to this day last week and is 29 cents less per gallon compared to this day last year.
AAA Texas said that when refineries start transitioning to more expensive summer-blend gasoline production, the seasonal lull is likely nearing its end, as pump prices typically begin to trend higher heading into spring.
