Hotter’N Hell Hundred recieves national recognition
“I’m manifesting No. 1.”
WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - The Hotter’N Hell Hundred is making history, earning a nomination for best road cycling event in the United States from USA Today.
This marks the third year in a row the Hotter’N Hell Hundred has received national recognition.
Back in 2024, the race claimed the top spot on USA Today’s list of the 10 Best Road Rides in the country, and in 2025, it finished third.
This year, the competition is once again stiff, with nominees from across the nation, including races in New York and Colorado, competing for the No. 1 spot.
But even with tough challengers, Hotter’N Hell steering committee member Meg Nester said she is feeling confident.
“Oh, I’m manifesting No. 1. It’s not about the quantity of the ride, it’s the quality. And I think the Hotter’N Hell 100 is the premier, numero uno, top spot for the best ride overall, without a doubt,” Nester said.
Hotter’N Hell Hundred Chairman David Coleman said it is an honor to be nominated.
“It’s really nice to be recognized as one of the top rides or the top ride in the country. It’s just validation that what we’re doing, people appreciate,” Coleman said.
Officials said the nomination reflects the community’s continued support.
“From the steering committee all the way down to people that staff the rest stops, the Finish Line Village in the MPEC, it’s unbelievable the community of Texoma is so proud,” Nester said.
Although nominations are chosen by USA Today staff, it is up to the community to select the final winner.
Hotter’N Hell officials said people can vote once per day through noon on March 23 to help secure the No. 1 spot. The final rankings will be released on April 1.
