Memorial High School Senior breaks WFISD 800M record

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - Memorial High School senior Braylon Kinzie shattered a WFISD record in the 800-meter dash at the UIL Class 5A Regional meet in Lubbock, Texas.

Kinzie’s time of 1:53.52 beats the record set by Old High’s Ricky Rose in 1967. Rose’s time was 1:54.60, meaning Kinzie’s run was better by just over a whole second.

Kinzie’s run not only smashed the city record, but was good enough to qualify for the state track & field meet in Austin.
