Firefighters respond to workshop, garage blaze Saturday night

IOWA PARK, Texas (KAUZ) - The Iowa Park Volunteer Fire Department was called to a barn fire just after 10 P.M. Saturday on Rogers Road.

The department says when they arrived, they found a workshop and attached garage fully involved with live electrical lines on the ground.

Oncor was called to secure the power lines.

While waiting for the electrical lines to be safely secured, the department says they provided structure protection to another outbuilding and a home, both within 100 feet of the blaze.

There were no injuries reported in connection with the fire.

Other agencies assisted at the scene, including Wichita West VFD, Sheppard Fire, and Electra Fire. Iowa Park Police, Wichita County Sheriffs, and Wichita County Emergency Management also provided support.

The cause of the fire is still unknown at this time.
