Late night fire damages dry cleaners, sandwich shop

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) - Two Wichita Falls businesses were affected by an after-hours fire late Monday night.

Wichita Falls Fire Marshal Craig Berend said crews were dispatched at 11:01 p.m. to the corner of Fairway Boulevard and Kell West for a possible structure fire.

Berend said when crews arrived, they found a fire on an interior wall located between Pressed Dry Cleaners and Subway. Berend says the fire was located in the break area and workstation inside the cleaners.

Multiple units were deployed, including a ladder truck to inspect for any fire on the roof.

WFFD says that the damages in Pressed are approximately $40,000 and that Subway suffered damages of approximately $7,500.

Berend adds that there were no occupants in either business at the time of the fire and that no firefighters or bystanders were injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation and undetermined at this time.
